$2.9 Million Fund To Be Used for HLS Financial Aid
The Landon H. Gammon Fund has been established at the Law School as an unrestricted bequest. It will be used to provide scholarships for foreign nationals in the School's LL.M. (Master of Laws) degree program.
The Fund is supported by a $2.9 million bequest of Katherine C. Gammon in memory of her husband, Landon H. Gammon LL.B. '22. The Fund will provide more than $100,000 per year for financial aid assistance.
"We are pleased to offer valuable financial assistance to students who come from around the world to advance their legal studies in our LL.M. program," said Dean Robert Clark. "The Gammon Fund marks a great advance over our previous level of financial aid for graduate students. We owe a great deal of gratitude to members of the Gammon family for their generosity in support of the Harvard Law School and their foresight in allowing unrestricted use of the income from the bequest."
The Law School welcomes students from a variety of legal systems into the one-year LL.M. program with the conviction that a broad and diversified interchange among American lawyers, legal scholars, and law students from other countries will be of mutual benefit. The LL.M. program typically includes 150 students from more than 50 countries and attracts lawyers who are interested in careers in law teaching and research, government service, international organizations, and private practice.
