President to hold office hours for students

President Neil L. Rudenstine will hold office hours for students in his Massachusetts Hall office at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22. Office hours are held on a first-come, first-served basis.

Boylston Prize Speaking Contest to hold finals

The final competition for the Boylston Prize Speaking Contest will be held Thursday, April 16, at 8 p.m. at Harvard-Yenching Auditorium, 2 Divinity Ave. The contest, which is sponsored by the Department of English and American Literature and Language, gives prizes for the delivery of memorized selections from English, Greek, or Latin literature. All are invited to attend.

Sea-faring food is subject of Radcliffe Culinary Friends event

"Whaling, Cod Fishing and Sea-faring Food in Fact and Fiction" is a discussion to be held by the Radcliffe Culinary Friends at the Schlesinger Library on Sunday, April 19, 2-4 p.m. in Askwith Lecture Hall, Longfellow Hall, Appian Way.

The panel is K. Dun Gifford, president of Oldways Preservation and Exchange Trust; Anne C. Grossman and Lisa Grossman Thomas, authors of Lobscouse & Spotted Dog; and Mark Kurlansky, author of Cod: A Biography of the Fish that Changed the World. The speakers will address a number of piscatorial questions, such as "What did sea-faring people eat in order to fuel their death-defying adventures?"

Tickets are $25; $12.50 for members of the Radcliffe Culinary Friends and are available at the door. For more information, call 495-8647.

Women's social event to be held at Rockefeller Hall

The group " Women-Oriented Women" invites Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered Women from all parts of the University to a party on Saturday, April 25, 8-11 p.m., at Rockefeller Hall. Food and drink will be available. Rockefeller Hall is at 47 Francis Ave., at the Divinity School. The event is free and open to the public.
