Harvard Graduate Council 'Fun Run' To Raise Funds
Rain or shine, the fourth annual Fun Run is fast approaching! Sponsored
by the Harvard Graduate Council (HGC), the Fun Run will take place on Saturday,
April 18, at the Business School's Kresge Hall. Registration will take place
at 9 a.m., followed by the race at 10 a.m. In addition, a relay race will
be held at 10:45 a.m.
The purpose of the Fun Run is to bring together graduate students to
raise money for local service organizations. The 3-K race is organized by
HGC and funded through corporate sponsors. In 1996, over 500 people participated
in the event which raised $5,000 for Outdoor Explorations, an organization
which coordinates environmental service projects, disability training, and
adventure trips for hundreds of people with cognitive and physical disabilities.
Run by students, the HGC links the ten graduate and professional schools
to promote political, social, athletic, and public service programs that
unite the University community.
Registration is $10 in advance and $15 on the day of the race. For more
information, contact Yvonne Michael, 525-2235, or Tanuja Rastogi, 277-6145.
