Extension School's 'Bards and Minstrels' To Play
Loker Commons
Join Extension School students, faculty, and staff from 7 to 9 p.m. in
Loker Commons, on the garden level of Memorial Hall, for a week of performances,
April 20-23.
Monday, April 20: "Poet's Corner" -- Poems, monologues, and
"fused and broken genre pieces." Extension instructors Katrina
Roberts and Daniel Bosch will read from their published works and their
students will read their poetry. An open mike for audience poetry follows.
Tuesday, April 21: "Pop Pourri" -- Extension student Lori Maloney
will sing classmate Frank M. Murray's original reggae, folk, and jazz tunes.
Bring your own tunes or combo for the open mike jam session.
Wednesday, April 22: "Beethoven Binge" -- The Galitzin String
Quartet, led by violinist, Dean of Students for Continuing Education Christopher
Queen, who will explain and play Beethoven's Opus 132. Amateur classicists
are welcome to follow -- all composers, periods, and styles welcome.
Thursday, April 23: "Fiction Fling" -- Students and instructors,
including Grace Dane Mazur, Tom Perrotta, and Wayne Wilson, will read from
their fiction.

Free coffee, soft drinks, and pastries will be served to "Bards
and Minstrels" performers and audiences.
