Bunting-Smith Memorial Service To Be Held

A memorial service in honor of Mary Ingraham Bunting-Smith, the fifth president of Radcliffe College, will be held on Saturday, April 25, at 2 p.m. in Memorial Church, Harvard Yard. A reception will follow at Greenleaf House in Cambridge.

Bunting-Smith's daughter and granddaughter will participate in the service. Remembrances also will be offered by Linda S. Wilson, the current president of Radcliffe College; Derek C. Bok, Harvard University president emeritus; David Jackson '64 and Ethel Noland Jackson '66, former freshman seminar students of Bunting-Smith; and Dr. Vilma Hunt AM '58, BI '62, '63, a former Radcliffe Institute fellow.

Bunting-Smith, who died on January 21, 1998, also founded The Radcliffe Institute for Independent Study, later renamed The Mary Ingraham Bunting Institute in her honor.
