At the Faculty Council's thirteenth meeting of the year Professor Peter T. Ellison (Anthropology and associate dean of the Faculty), presented the Report of the Faculty Committee on Graduate Student Financial Support to the Council. Deans Russell E. Berg (Admissions and Financial Aid in the Graduate School), Margot N. Gill (Administrative Dean of the Graduate School), Toni Turano (History and Literature and Assistant Dean of the Faculty for Academic Planning), and Christoph J. Wolff (Music and Dean of the Graduate School) were present for this discussion.

In other business, the Council noted that the deadline for nominations for the Faculty Council election is Wednesday, March 11, at 5 p.m. The Council also received preliminary statistics on faculty retirement patterns in FAS. Professor Patricia Deldin (Psychology) has accepted appointment to the Council in succession to Professor Michael Hasselmo (Psychology).

The March Faculty Meeting has been canceled. The Council next meets on March 18.
