Leverett House HAND program pitches in at skating show

Students from the Leverett House HAND (House and Neighborhood Development) Program ran the concessions stand last weekend for a skating show at Bright Hockey Center. The show, which featured skaters from the Skating Club of Boston, was a benefit for "Our Place," a center for homeless children that is run by the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army organizes the annual event, and Leverett HAND has run the concessions stand for the past five years as a fundraiser for the public service program.

The A.R.T., under the artistic direction of Robert Brustein, presents Albee's Men, a one-man performance of excerpts from the works of Edward Albee, directed by Glyn O'Malley and performed by Stephen Rowe. The show includes monologues spanning over 30 years of Albee's work, and O'Malley and Rowe compiled the pieces in collaboration with Albee. The production runs from Tuesday, March 24 through Saturday, April 11 at the Hasty Pudding Theatre, 12 Holyoke St., Cambridge. Tickets are $25 and $35, but senior citizen, group, and student discounts are available. Call 547-8300 or email ART@fas.harvard.edu for information. The A.R.T. is also online at www.amrep.org.
