Law School Names Albert Martin Sacks Fellows Tymothy S. MacLeod and David G. Seibel have been named the new Albert Martin Sacks Fellows. The goal of the fellowships is to increase practice-based research and scholarship, and to encourage interest in clinical law teaching. During their fellowship terms, MacLeod will be placed with the Harvard Criminal Justice Institute and Seibel will be placed with the Hale and Dorr Legal Services Center of the Law School. Bailyn inaugurates lecture series at White House Historian Bernard Bailyn was scheduled to inaugurate the "White House Millennium" lecture series in Washington last night. In his talk, Bailyn -- the Adams University Professor Emeritus -- expects to address some of the core American ideas that crystallized during the Revolutionary Era, that have shaped our history since then, and that must be preserved as we move into a new millennium, according to a statement from the White House. The lecture, to be given in the East Room before an audience that included the Clintons, was scheduled to be televised and "cybercast" over the Internet. Bailyn will also deliver the National Endowment for the Humanities' Jefferson Lecture on March 23. Kennedy School Dean Nye meets Blair Kennedy School Dean Joseph S. Nye Jr. was in Washington, D.C., last week strengthening the School's international ties. After attending the White House dinner for British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Nye met with the Prime Minister, and President and Mrs. Clinton, along with a small group of others at the White House on Friday to discuss the challenges facing governance globally. Nye is particularly well-versed on the role of governance -- he initiated the Visions of Governance for the 21st Century Project at the Kennedy School, which seeks to address the precipitous decline in trust in government by tackling the challenges that face democratic governments around the world.
