  Fromm Foundation Names Commission Winners

The Fromm Music Foundation at Harvard has named 10 composers selected to receive 1997 Fromm commissions.

The composers are: William Albright (Ann Arbor, Mich.), Jonathan Dawe (Bronxville, N.Y.), Jason Eckhart (New York, N.Y.), Robert Eidschun (Rochester, N.Y.), Guy Garnett (Urbana, Ill.), Earl Howard (Sunnyside, N.Y.), Stephen Mosko (GreenValley, Calif.), Pauline Oliveros (Kingston, N.Y.), Kurt Rohde (San Francisco, Calif.), and Melinda Wagner (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.)

The commissions represent one of the main ways that the Fromm Music Foundation seeks to strengthen composition and to bring contemporary concert music closer to the public.

Applications for commissions are reviewed on an annual basis. The deadline for proposals is June 1. Requests for guidelines should be sent to: The Fromm Music Foundation at Harvard, Department of Music, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA 02138.
