Feaster Claims Ivy League Scoring Record

Senior All-American Allison Feaster, starting forward on the women's basketball team, broke the Ivy League career scoring record on Monday, Jan. 26 in an 87-58 victory over Lehigh at the Crimson's home gym, Lavietes Pavilion. Feaster now has 1,949 points, breaking the record of 1,933 points previously held by Dartmouth's Gail Koziara (1979-82).

Feaster, the nation's leading scorer (28.7 ppg), netted 32 points

and hauled down 13 rebounds in the contest. She recorded another personal milestone, collecting her 1,000th career rebound during the game. With 1,007 rebounds, Feaster is on pace to eclipse Harvard's all-time career rebounding record of 1,053 held by Tammy Butler '95. Feaster, the 1994-95 Ivy League Rookie of the Year and two-time Ivy Player of the Year, already holds the school's career record for steals (265).

Earlier this season, she broke Harvard's career scoring record on Sunday, Nov. 30, in a 68-54 win versus Mt. St. Mary's in the Consolation game of the ECAC Holiday Festival hosted by Holy Cross in Worcester. The record of 1,605 points was also held by Butler.

Feaster may well become the first woman in Ancient Eight history to score 2,000 points and collect 1,000 rebounds. She has recorded 11 double-doubles in scoring and rebounding in 15 games, and posted eight 30-point performances. Feaster, a resident of Houston, Texas, has earned Ivy League Player of the Week honors six times in nine weeks and ECAC Player of the Week accolades once. Earlier this year, she was voted Harvard Invitational MVP and named to the All-Tournament team as well as the ECAC Holiday Festival All-Tournament team.

Feaster, an economics concentrator, is considering a career in

professional basketball and/or on Wall Street.

A 1994 graduate of Chester (S.C.) High School, Feaster played basketball there for four years. She was a five-time All-State selection, two-time South Carolina Player of the Year, and a Parade All-American. Feaster holds the girls basketball all-time career scoring record in South Carolina with 3,427 points.
