Candidates for Overseer and HAA Elected Director
This year, the alumni will elect five members to the Board of Overseers and six directors of the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA). Ballots will be mailed by April 15 and must be returned by the Friday before Commencement, May 29. Election results will be announced on the afternoon of Commencement, Thursday, June 4. Nominations of one or more additional Overseer candidates may be made in each year by holders of Harvard degrees. Such nominations must be made on an official nomination form furnished by the Secretary of the Board upon request to qualified applicants, and for 1998 must contain at least 253 valid signatures. Such nominations shall be addressed to the Secretary of the Board and filed at his office, 17 Quincy St., Cambridge, MA 02138, by 5 p.m. on Feb. 10, 1998. Additional nominations for HAA Elected Director may be made by certificate, signed by regular members of the Association in number not less than three-quarters of one percent of the average votes cast in the previous three elections. For the 1998 election the number of signatures needed is 250. Such nominating certificates must be filed at the office of the Association, Wadsworth House, Cambridge, MA 02138 by 5 p.m. on Feb. 10, 1998.
