UIS winter computer training courses offered Help keep the winter blues at bay by taking a computer training course at University Information Systems. This winter UIS is offering a full range of Windows 95 and Macintosh training classes in the classrooms at 1730 Cambridge St. All training is hands-on, with one person per computer. Fineberg will hold office hours for students in his Massachusetts Hall office at 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26. The hours are held on a first-come, first-served basis. Weatherhead Center for International Affairs offers fellowships Fellowship opportunities at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs for 1998-99 include the following: The MacArthur Foundation Fellowships in Transnational Security Issues: Two predoctoral fellowships are open to Harvard Ph.D. (or similarly advanced degree) candidates whose research is related to transnational security or economic security issues. The fellowship is to be used while in residence at the Center and carries a stipend of $18,200. The application deadline is March 2. Graduate Student Associate Positions: Associates are offered shared office space at the Center with computer resources. Grants are available for accepted research proposals. Applicants should be Harvard graduate students who have completed their general examinations. The application deadline is March 6. Summer Travel Grants in International Affairs for Harvard Undergraduates: Grants ranging from $500 to $3,000 are offered to help finance foreign travel for senior thesis research on international affairs. Center for Children's Health Gives Award The Harvard Award for Excellence in Children's Health was presented yesterday to Boston's Crittenton Hastings House for its "Services to Teen Parents and their Children" program. The $10,000 award was sponsored by the Harvard Center for Children's Health, Children's Hospital and the city of Boston.
