Ticket Lottery Set for China President's Speech
Though it has not been confirmed, Harvard University expects that Jiang Zemin, president of the People's Republic of China, will visit the University on Saturday, Nov. 1, to deliver a speech to an audience of faculty, students, staff, and invited guests. If confirmed, the morning visit will be hosted by Harvard's Fairbank Center for East Asian Research. Non-transferable tickets will be distributed to faculty and staff in Asia-related fields and to special guests. Other tickets will be available to Harvard students and other Harvard I.D. holders by lottery. The speech will be simultaneously translated into English and be heard through headphones in the audience. A television viewing area will be available on the Harvard campus.
