Five Things Educators Must Consider
The Institute focused on a series of interrelated issues connected with the use of information technology in the schools. These issues were: * Acceptable use -- how can schools allow students to explore the World Wide Web while ensuring that they use the opportunity productively and appropriately? * Community -- how can technology be used to build links between the school and the surrounding community? * Evaluation -- how can educators gauge the effectiveness of technological products? * Equity -- how can schools narrow the gap between technological haves and have-nots? * Funding -- where will schools get the money to purchase the hardware and software they need?
