President Wilson to hold office hours for students President Linda S. Wilson will hold office hours for students in her Fay House office on Wednesday, May 28, from 3 to 4 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Program on JFK and Medicare debate to be held at KSG Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.); Robert Ball, U.S. commissioner of Social Security (1962-1973); and Karen Davis, president of the Commonwealth Fund and deputy assistant secretary for health policy in the Department of Health and Human Services (1977-1980), will discuss "The Medicare Debate: Then and Now," at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, at the Kennedy School of Government's ARCO Forum. Introductory remarks will be made by Philip Sharp, director of the Institute of Politics, and the discussion will be moderated by John F. Kennedy Jr., editor-in-chief of George magazine. A film also will be shown featuring President Kennedy speaking on Medicare. The discussion commemorates what would have been the 80th birthday of President Kennedy, who was born May 29, 1917.
Scholarships for summer study in Spain available The Real Colegio Complutense, established in cooperation with Harvard, is offering scholarships for summer courses (a list is available) in Spain (El Escorial) for Harvard students and/or affiliates. The scholarships include room and board, as well as tuition fees. To apply, submit a transcript, a C.V., certificate of knowledge of Spanish (if the course desired is conducted in Spanish), and a letter of recommendation by the department, center, or school officer explaining the applicant's interest in a specific course. TV production wins New England Emmys In its first venture into children's television production, the Media Center of the Harvard-affiliated Judge Baker Children's Center has received two New England Emmy Awards for its TV pilot, Willoughby's Wonders. Alvin Pouissant, clinical professor of psychiatry, and Susan Linn, EdD, served as co-executive producers of the production, which was filmed in Boston's South End and aims to advance healthy psychosocial development in children.
