Harvard Magazine's Web site keeps alumni abroad in touch Web-surfing Harvardians and others worldwide now read Harvard Magazine on line. The magazine's Web site, launched last spring, has had visitors from 68 countries, including 142,000 hits from 7,668 different people. Many of those who have logged on are alumni living abroad who are not sent copies of the magazine because of high postage costs. The Web site helps strengthen the University's ties to these far-flung graduates. The magazine's address is http://www.harvard-magazine.com. Provost Carnesale to hold office hours for students Provost Albert Carnesale will hold office hours for students on Monday, Oct. 21. Office hours are 4 to 5 p.m. and are held in Massachusetts Hall on a first-come, first-served basis. The hours are open to all students at the University. Volunteers sought at Museum of Cultural and Natural History The Museum of Cultural and Natural History -- comprised by the Botanical Museum, the Mineralogical and Geological Museum, the Museum of Comparative Zoology, and the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology -- has openings for a variety of volunteer positions, such as museum guides and interpreters for education programs and adult tour groups, and teacher assistants to assist with family programs. Volunteers are also needed to help develop curriculum, create visuals, and do general office work. Volunteer training begins in late October. For information, contact 495-2341. Business and Law Association seeks alumni The Harvard Association for Law and Business (HALB) would like to hear from alumni who are now involved in business, especially those who are not practicing law, but are instead involved in running their own companies or are working in such fields as venture capital, consulting, or other management positions. If you would like to come to campus and share your "war stories" and experiences, contact HALB by writing to: HALB, Pound Hall Mail Center, Harvard Law School, Cambridge, MA 02138; or halb@law.harvard.edu. For more information, see the Web page at http://www.law.harvard.edu/home/halb/. American Repertory Theatre offers new services The American Repertory Theatre (ART) maintains a Web page that offers online subscription ordering (http://www.amrep.org), one of the few such subscription services in the country. ART customers can also use a new phone system (547-8300) to learn about upcoming productions directly from the people who create them --directors, actors, designers, and artistic staff. Additional recordings are added over the course of the season, providing an increasing level of detail as each show approaches.
