Hillary Rodham Clinton to Speak at KSG
First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton will speak at the Kennedy School of Government on Friday, Oct. 4, at 2 p.m. Admission to see Clinton has been reserved exclusively for members of the Harvard community; only 600 or 700 people have received tickets through a lottery system. Live coverage of Clinton's speech will be available for those who were not able to get tickets, however. The speech will be carried live on C-SPAN and through a live closed-circuit television system that will be available to the public at Science Center Room D, Weiner Auditorium at the Kennedy School, and at Sanders Theatre. Live audio of the event will also be available by Internet. In cooperation with the AudioNet, the Kennedy School will premiere RealAudio technology to allow Internet users equipped with sound cards to listen to events at the School's ARCO Forum of Public Affairs live from anywhere in the world. Kennedy School Internet broadcasts will be available at no charge for anyone with a 14,400 baud Internet connection and a sound card. If this equipment is not included in their Web browser software, listeners will also need to download a free RealAudio player. The sound will be accompanied by continually updated photographs of Clinton. Access to the Kennedy School speakers, debates, and panel discussions will be available through links from the AudioNet homepage (www.audionet.com) or the main Kennedy School website (www.ksg.harvard.edu) The First Lady, author of It Takes a Village: And Other Lessons Children Teach Us, will discuss issues of concern to children and families. Her talk is sponsored by the School's Institute of Politics.
