Gift from Jaidah Family Supports KSG's Environment and Natural Resource Director

At Commencement Exercises in June, Dean Joseph S. Nye Jr. announced a new gift from the Jaidah Family of the State of Qatar to support the director of the Kennedy School of Government's Environment and Natural Resource Program.

Known as the "Jaidah Family Directorship of Environment and Natural Resources," the gift will provide funding for the director of the Environment and Natural Resources Program within the School's Center for Science and International Affairs. Mr. and Mrs. Jassim M. Jaidah and the Hon. Ali M. Jaidah, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United Kingdom, endowed the directorship to mark the occasion of the graduation of Mazen Jaidah from the Kennedy School with a Master in Public Policy.

"We are grateful to the Jaidah Family for their generous expression of confidence in the Kennedy School," said Nye. "Their support will provide an important foundation for our work in energy, environment, and natural resources policy." The Jaidah Family is one of the leading families of international commerce and diplomacy in the State of Qatar, and have long been involved in leadership positions in government, energy, natural resources, and international affairs.

The Jaidah gift will allow the Environment and Natural Resources Program to build one of the leading centers for research, teaching, and outreach on environment and natural resource policy.
