American Repertory's Brustein, Orchard join Moscow theater conference The American Repertory Theatre's Robert Brustein, artistic director, and Robert Orchard, managing director, traveled to Moscow last month to participate in an international theater conference held at the Moscow Art Theatre. The event was held at the historic theater in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the meeting between founders Konstantin Stanislavaky and Vladimir Nemirovich-Danchenko, as they laid the foundation of the principles of their new theater and its groundbreaking philosophy. Brustein and Orchard are the American representatives joining international theater luminaries Ingmar Bergman of Sweden, Peter Brook of England, Arianne Mnushkin of France, Peter Stein of Germany, Georgio Strehler of Italy, and Tadashi Suzuki of Japan. The conference addressed issues that have concerned the worldwide theater community over the century, and the state of theater in the modern world. Ceramics on view at Hilles Library Handbuilt bowls with interiors that reflect the artist's interpretations of sand dunes, rock formations, campfires, and memories are on display in "Clay Landscapes," a Hilles Library exhibition of work by Michelle Zacks of the Radcliffe Ceramics Studio. The library is at Garden and Shepard streets and the show is on view now through July 25.
