Net Conference Offers Passes Via Lottery
The Harvard Conference on the Internet and Society, May 28-31, is offering
a limited number of one-day passes for members of the Harvard community
to attend a day of the conference at no charge.
Experts from business, government, and academia will discuss the impact
of the Internet, the fastest growing method of communication, on the way
organizations function, learn, earn, govern, survive, or fail to survive.
Speakers and moderators with extensive experience in the areas of business,
law, public policy, press and politics, health care, education, library
and publishing, and technology will address the potential and problems of
using the most efficient means of large-scale information delivery in history.
Speakers include President Neil L. Rudenstine, Microsoft CEO Bill Gates,
Netscape Communications Chairman Jim Clark, Sun Microsystems CEO Scott McNealy,
and many others.
All Harvard students, faculty, and staff who are interested in a pass to
attend will be entered into a lottery. One entry per person will be accepted
April 16 through 19 via the lottery web site (www.harvnet.harvard.edu/lottery.html).
The pass covers one day of conference attendance, excluding meals. A valid
Harvard ID is required. Lottery winners will be notified by e-mail (no later
than April 30) and required to pay a $10 registration processing fee to
confirm conference participation.
The event is made possible in part by sponsorships from "Crimson Benefactor"
